ODAZZO [o-dah-zo] was founded in 2020 with a conscious and determined spirit. Artisan and teacher Ebony Omar Perry took the journey from the Midwest to the West landing in Northern California where he found his passion for jewelry making.  These skills started early in his life as he would watch his grandmother Alma sit at her brown folding table, wind the bobbing, thread her machine, and then press her swollen feet to the pedal to start sowing designs that she created. Ebony wouldn't discover his jewelry designing and making skills until moving to Northern California during the Pandemic.  For all of us during that time, life had seemed to take a screeching halt, and we were all forced to slow down and look the present moment in the face.  It was a time of discovery and reigniting passions and creativity that had been muffled by the business of our everyday lives.  Instead of allowing the current situations to break him down, Ebony allowed those moments to break him opening to passionate creativity.  He would make his first piece out of hematite beads, creating a stretch rope pendant necklace to wear on a date.  That evening he noticed how his necklaces got more compliments than did anything else.  "Where did you buy that?" He would hear all night. He soon noticed how his jewelry would become a conversation piece and would be appreciated by random people wherever he went.  All of this became more inspiration to continue to make.  

 

Ebony designs include the use of natural stone beads, hammered, and solid silver, genuine leather, crystals, and wood.  His bracelet and necklace designs are inspired by various cultures, making for a diverse selection of pieces and styles.  Included in his collections are designs from places like Africa, India, Indonesia, and Asia.  The Omar Winning Collection is made up of his own designs and some of his favorite designs from Artisans from around the world.
